The first time I held a bamboo
fly-fishing rod was at the age of 20 and it was a Garrison 212E. It felt like an extension of my arm and I knew that I had to fish
using this marvelous material.
I also learned throughout the years that the real smart, big fish, laid low in the waters, so I learned
to fish with subsurface flies.
We here at Monllor Rods pride ourselves in offering the finest hand-crafted,
split-cane bamboo fly-fishing rods and specifically designed, handmade fly reels. All components, except guides and tip-tops, are
made in-house, ensuring a precise fit to the cane blank and not the other way around.
We sell these products to fly-fishers throughout
Florida, the United States, and abroad with particular emphasis on meeting the needs of the wet-fly fly angler. . We provide the angler
interested in fishing subsurface flies, the opportunity to own a bamboo fly fishing rod made just for that purpose.
Monllor Rods is owned and operated by Nestor A. Monllor (a.k.a. Ren) of Lakeland, Florida. Ren has been making his ownfly-fishing rods for the past 15 years and has honed his production skills and expertise to the point of turning this hobby into a
viable business.
